Day 10 Wednesday, July 11, 2018
We beat hell out of Lost Hills fast in order to save our souls. Down through Wasco and into more scrub land and the outer limits of the Mojave.
Random observation from Randy: Wasco's high school teams should be called the Wabbits.
Here is an idea of the scenery:
A storm was a'brewin' up ahead, but we missed it. Just a few sprinkles here and there.
Storm's a brewin'.
We arrived at Petco Park in San Diego just in time for first pitch. Here are some shots of the park:
Outside the park behind left field.
Two of the several restaurants that ring the concourse.
Right field.
Left-center field videoboard.
Center field.
Home plate and base lines.
The Dodgers beat the Padres, 4-2, as Kenta Maeda stymied the Padres' bats for six innings.
Favorite road names: 20 Mule Team Road
Rocket Site Road
Clay Mine Road
Favorite Town Names: Needles, California
Tehachapi, California
Random observation from Randy: 'Reduce speed when wet.' Maybe we should slow down. I am feeling a bit damp.
Nothing to count. That's what happens when you drive through a desert.

It was rough finding a motel room in or anywhere near San Diego that night: "I'm sorry, but we're all booked up. Are you two here for Pride Week?"
Next: LA
